The food industry is an important part of our activity, one with very strict requirements for hygiene. J-TEC is a member of the European Hygienic Engineering Design Group (EHEDG). The group provides guidance on the hygiene engineering aspects of safe food production, with:
- Production, publication and updating of guidelines
- Equipment approval by certification
- Organization of conferences
- Regional activities
- Advice to legislators and standards bodies (CEN, ISO, etc)
- EC support
J-TEC is a member of the Dry Materials Handling subgroup, enabling us to share know-how not only with other engineering companies but also food suppliers such as Nestlé, Unilever, DSM, Quest, etc. This subgroup recently published a guideline entitled "General Hygienic Design Criteria for the safe processing of Dry Particulate Materials."
At present a guideline is being drawn up concerning the hygienic design of solids processing plant.
As a member of EHEDG, J-TEC is a reliable partner in the handling of dry materials for the European food industry.
